Today I rushed home from work, tied a few sure fire flies, and headed to Spring Street access. I couldn't help myself... Temperatures were once again pushing 80. My fishing companion today was Dasha, my girlfriend's 9 year old daughter who has developed a true love of Flyfishing.
We only had an hour and a half to fish, and we made the most of it. And even though we only caught one lowly chub, and Dasha did fall in once, we had a great time. It's always amazing to watch kids fish.
The stream is running clear and cold, and there were sporadic bugs coming off, mostly midges and a few caddis. I do fear that the lack of any kind of winter snow will result in extremely low and warm water as the season wears on.
